WCMRC Indigenous Summer Internship Program

WCMRC is hiring an Indigenous intern to work as a deckhand at each of our three response bases – Burnaby, Nanaimo and Prince Rupert. The four month (May – August) summer job is a full-time paid position. Interns will gain valuable work experience in the marine sector and insight into how spill response works on Canada’s West Coast.

This fully funded program Trades Skills Foundation introduces theoretical and practical learning in the trade industry. This is an opportunity for Hands-on Trades sampling and specific safety certifications. Learn safe work practices, and receive direct knowledge to make an informed decision about Trade pathways.

Aboriginal Culinary Arts, Tourism and Hospitality Management

The goal of the ACATHM program is development of a skilled workforce to participant in existing and new economic activities related to food preparation and service, hospitality and tourism for the Songhees Nation and other Indigenous Communities participating in the program.
